As the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center-Jeddah continues to expand and grow, so does the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Since its inception in March, 2000 when only the most basic laboratory tests were available on site, the test menu has grown monthly. Entirely new laboratory sections have been added including Immunology/Serology, Flow Cytometry, Assisted Reproduction Technology, Special Chemistry, TB/Mycology, and still more are under development, including HLA and Molecular Pathology. The Department fulfills the requirements and maintains the high standards obtained by accreditation from the College of American Pathologists, the American Association of Blood Banks, and JCIA. |
