Does KFSH&RC-Jeddah have Ambulance Service?

The Ambulance Services department of KFSH&RC-Jeddah aims to provide the best pre-hospital care to all the patients we treat and transport.  The department ensures improvement to the patient experience by maintaining and enhancing quality care through theoretical and practical staff education.

Ambulance Services of KFSH&RC-Jeddah operates three vehicles, all of which conform to international layout expectations.  Two vehicles are equipped to treat ACLS emergency situations and the third is equipped for Basic Life Support (BLS) situations.  The current equipment includes Life Pack 12/10 defibrillators, Pro-Pak ventilators, syringe pumps, Laerdal portable suction units, comprehensive drug boxes and Advanced Life Support (ALS) equipment for adults, pediatrics and neonates.

Our department is international in nature, with representatives not only from Saudi Arabia but also from Canada, Pakistan, South Africa, Sudan, and the United Kingdom.  Each ambulance has a crew of three; an Arabic-speaking driver, a paramedic and an emergency medicine technician.  Our paramedic staff is trained to international standards and are able to provide qualified care in all types of emergent and non-emergent medical situations.  All paramedics are certified in ACLS, PALS, NRP and PHTLS.

KFSH&RC-Jeddah Ambulance Services is an integral part of the Jeddah community’s disaster plan and is committed to providing efficient and effective emergency response as when required.  Liaison with the appropriate official agencies is on-going and the role of our department in such situations is respected and acknowledged by all staff.  As part of our community role, we also provide support in the Medivac program, established to ensure prompt medical evacuation of patients by air when required.
