In connection with World Heart Day, Department of Cardiology at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (Gen. Org)- Jeddah successfully organized a function on 16th September, 2008 in Jeddah Chamber of Commerce from 10:00 p.m. till 01:00 a.m.

The event was inaugurated by His Highness Prince Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal.

The theme of this year's World Heart Day is “Know Your Risk!” Organized by World Heart Federation members and partners to help people better understand their personal risk for cardiovascular disease, including hypertension (high blood pressure).

Several educational lectures were given to the public by Dr. Nasser Mahdi, Dr. Hamad Al-Qadhi, Dr. Fa'eqah Badr, Dr. AbdulAziz Al-Qasem and Dr. Yousef Nouf.

So, the purpose of World Heart Day activity was to help people better understand their personal risk for cardiovascular disease, including hypertension (high blood pressure).

World Heart Day activities included free measuring for weight, height, and blood pressure, cholesterol tests and much more. In addition to the distribution of educational booklets, health education brochures, and a period for answer queries and questions of visitors and attendees, quiz and prize ceremony”.
