On behalf of the Custodian of the two holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz in its second edition and in a cheerful atmosphere hoping for bright and promising future, H.E. Prince Faisal Bin Abdul-Aziz has inaugurated “Ibtikar Exhibition 2010”.
“Ibtikar Exhibition 2010” aims at highlighting the Saudi ability in innovation and creativity field. It is considered to be one of the biggest and most important exhibitions specialized in innovation and knowledge in the Middle East, a forum to exchange creativity and innovation culture within the segments of society, a bond between innovators and creators from one side and Companies and Organizations from the other side to turn the Saudi community into enlightened community.
The most important objectives of the exhibitions were the following:
- Highlighting the national capacities on innovation and creativity, enlightening the society about the national innovation system and the role of the concerned organizations, also to promote a culture of invention and innovation and shedding the lights on its role in ongoing development, and encouraging the participation of the private sector in upholding innovation within the Kingdom.
The exhibition’s objectives were clearly expressed in the speech of the Custodian of the two holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz, in which he has mentioned that every individual should carry his own responsibility towards this event. We, as individuals, are partners in this organization.
“The Organization of King Abdul-Aziz and his followers for Talents and Innovation” is a civilized national organization generously supported by the Custodian of the two holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz, and this exhibition is one of the organization’s activities. The exhibition motto for this year was (Towards Creative Society), was expressed in his speech at the event of declaring the establishment of the Organization named by the King himself.
He said that “Neglected Talent is like neglected and not irrigated small plant, there is no norm or religion accepts to neglect or ignore such talents. So, our mission is to take care of this small plant to grow and develop broad leafs providing shed for our future, after the aid bestowed on us from God Almighty. We are in dire need of such talents in this era of creativity and refining and embodying talents to serve our country and our religion.
The selection of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center to participate in such exhibition was a great chance for us, in which we have presented a comprehensive presentation of the latest organ transplant surgeries performed in the hospital such as Lung & Heart transplant, renal transplant, and Organs transplant in general, which reflected stunning success and development achieved in such field and the international recognition of the hospital as a health center specialized in organ transplant.
There was an overview of some complicated surgeries performed in Jeddah Branch, such as the complicated surgery of the little baby named Jouri, who was born with her heart out of the thoracic cavity, the thoracic surgeons have succeeded to return the heart into normal position and pull the thoracic bones to give life to little Jouri and her family. There was also presentation about reconstructive and plastic surgeries, the surgical treatment of epileptic patients, and other achievements in treating Oncology and bone marrow transplant patients. The presentation also included the establishing of great international medical technology by Saudi clever hands.
There was a comprehensive review of the excellent researches carried out in the Research Center of Riyadh Hospital and some of the researches in Jeddah Branch with explaining the mission of KFSHRC as to treat tertiary care patients and to find remedy for rare disease as a developed international health center in this field.
Many spectators have watched the miracle of the Saudi citizen in the medical field, the great success achieved to serve his country and his people with a confident and satisfied spirit.
A documentary about the 25 years ago establishment of Riyadh hospital was presented under the reign of the late King Faisal and the future expansion of the hospital directed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz.
The exhibition is still going on, the visitors’ number has amounted to thousands every day, we have received many appreciation letters from different parties, and have answered many questions during the days of the exhibition being proud to be part of this great humanitarian organization. The awarding is still coming; love is growing to please our God and to fulfill our duty to our beloved country.
